Central location, excellent connections
As a trimodal transport hub, Trier Harbour offers a comprehensive range of services that confirm its high potential as a transshipment point at the heart of Europe.
One of the strengths of the terminal is the broad range of services for containers, with transshipments and trucking, inland waterways transports (on the Moselle and Saar), repairs, rail transshipments, stuffing & stripping and a door-to-door service.
Terminal operator Am Zehnhoff-Söns (AZS) of Bonn and the recycling company Theo Steil jointly manage the Multimodal Terminal Trier as an operating consortium.
AZS is a specialist in container logistics, national and international complete loads, storage, overseas traffic and customs clearance. The company, one of the first forwarding agents in Bonn, was founded in 1907. Since April 2014, AZS has operated the Bonn terminal (together with the Stadtwerke Bonn, the municipal utilities) and the trimodal terminal in Metz (together with the Societé des Ports de Moselle).
Theo Steil GmbH is also extremely familiar with the business location of the "Binnenhafen", the inland harbour. For over 30 years, the company has focused on the storage and recycling of FE scrap and NF material at Trier Harbour. As well as the recycling company, the Steil Group includes the service company Steil Entsorgung GmbH and the transport and logistics company Gotra GmbH.
